This page explains what information esensors.net receives when you browse the library or use the contact form, and how that information is handled.
You can read the library without creating an account. We do not use advertising trackers. The contact form sends only the information you choose to enter.
Information we receive
You can browse the site without giving us personal information. The server may record basic request information such as an IP address, browser or device information, the requested page, the time of the request and referring page. These logs are used for security, troubleshooting and keeping the site available.
We do not use normal server logs to build advertising profiles about visitors.
Contact form
If you send a message through the contact form, we receive the name, email address, topic and message you enter. Organisation or affiliation is optional.
We use those details to reply, discuss collaboration, or review technical material that you choose to send. If you submit field observations, test results, research, figures or references for possible publication, we may keep the related correspondence while the material is being considered or prepared.
Sending material does not automatically publish it. If material is selected for the library, we can agree separately on whether your name and affiliation should appear with it.
Cookies and tracking
At the date shown on this page, esensors.net does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
A short-lived session cookie may be created when the contact form is submitted. It is used to limit repeated submissions and expires with the browser session. It is not used for advertising, analytics or cross-site tracking.
If we later add analytics, advertising or another service that uses tracking, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.
How information is used
We use information from the site to:
- to deliver and maintain the website;
- to protect the site and contact form from abuse;
- to reply to messages;
- to discuss collaboration or submitted technical material;
- to keep correspondence related to material that is published.

If the GDPR applies, we generally rely on legitimate interests to operate and protect the website and to reply to messages you choose to send. If you ask us to publish your name or affiliation with a contribution, we rely on your consent for that publication. We may also process information when the law requires it.

We do not sell or rent personal information. Our hosting and email providers process the data needed to run the site and deliver messages. Their systems may be located in other countries. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Routine messages are kept only as long as they are needed for the conversation or the reason they were sent. Correspondence about published technical work may be kept as part of the editorial record. Server logs and backups follow the retention and backup settings of the hosting service.
We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no website or email system can guarantee absolute security.
Your information
If you want personal information from a message you sent to be corrected or deleted, you can contact the library. If your name or affiliation appears with a contribution, you can also contact us about that attribution.

Sensor Engineering Library is maintained by a small volunteer group that organises and publishes technical reference material on industrial sensors, signal interfaces, wiring and measurement.
Pages without an individual byline are edited and published by Sensor Engineering Library. When someone contributes original work, field experience or research, we can credit that person by name and affiliation if they want to be identified.

Technical pages may refer to standards, metrology publications, manufacturer documentation and engineering literature where relevant.
Practical observations, test results and original research can be submitted for consideration.
If material is published, contributors can be named with their affiliation when they want to be credited.
Technical pages are provided as general engineering reference. For design, installation, calibration, safety or compliance decisions, use the applicable standards, manufacturer documentation and project requirements.
External links and policy changes
Some pages link to standards bodies, manufacturers or other technical sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
We will update this policy when the site, contact process or services we use change in a way that affects privacy. The current revision date is shown at the top of the page.
